Country Curtain And A Fun Recipe

We are up in Pennsylvania for the fair, and I am soooo excited to be here. Micah rented us this cool little cabin and we are loving it. I hope to share lots of information and pictures with you when we return.

But for now, I thought I'd show you this cute little curtain. I love it. It proudly hangs over our front door. I would really love to find a fabric like similar to this and make matching aprons for my daughter and I.

I'll just add that to the ole project list.

Anyway, I like the fabric so much, I thought I'd paint a sign to match it. I used one of the wooden pieces I picked up the other day and painted it in a juvenille fashion to match the look of the country curtain. I probably need to touch it up a bit, but I was in a bit of a hurry (as usual). And after looking at it on the wall, I think I need to add the animal sounds over the animal like the curtain has. But that will have to wait.

I also had great plans to make baked goods for the road trip up here, but I simply ran out of time. I did, however, want to share the recipe with you of the goodies I was going to make. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly in a large bowl. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Blend dry ingredients into butter mixture. Chill dough, and chill an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10-15 minutes in the fridge. Meanwhile, mix 3 tablespoons sugar, and 3 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl. Scoop 1 inch globs of dough into the sugar/ cinnamon mixture. Coat by gently rolling balls of dough in the sugar mixture. Place on chilled ungreased cookie sheet, and bake 10 minutes. Remove from pan immediately.
